The Discovery of Carlac leads to a New Alliance and the Treaty of Prefsbelt

Since the discovery of the Carlac System in the Prefsbelt Sector by Captain Oquan Tangin Bacca’s Deep Space Reconnaissance Fleet, AMC’s Diplomatic Corps, led by Prime Executor Nimm Proga, has been in active negotiations with the Grand Vizier of the Yarkora who were found to populate that planet. As the Yarkora were not a space faring race, they were previously unknown to most of the Galaxy and their planet was found to be vastly underdeveloped because of a lack of off-world resources. As negotiations carried on, however, it became clear that their world was not as secluded as initially suspected as the Grand Vizier and his Ruling Council admitted that their planet had been overrun recently by off-world marauding bandits and groups of pirates, bounty hunters and big game hunting bands.

One industrious hunting enterprise had even made a business of importing many large and highly aggressive predators to seed the planet for highly profitable hunting expeditions. These creatures have now taken root and are self-populating many areas of the arid dessert and grassland regions of the planet. This has wrought considerable hardship to the native species as well as to the locale populace who are not used to fighting these non-native predators.

In a series of delicate negotiations, the Yarkora have agreed to allow AMC to establish a permanent military presence on Carlac through a Strategic Alliance Agreement with AMC now formalized and ratified as the Treaty of Prefsbelt. This will allow AMC’s Mobile Infantry to re-secure the planet under the control of the Yarkora Grand Vizier and his Ruling Council.  It will also allow for a permanent planet wide training ground for AMC personnel to conduct combat and security training missions as new threats arrive on the planet and pockets of off-worlder resistance hold out against the military push from combined AMC and Yarkora forces. While AMC’s Military now holds sway over the planet, the Yarkora will maintain their political independence and will maintain sovereignty over their planet under this Strategic Alliance Agreement.

A large contingent of Yarkora have also decided to formally join AMC as now the Galaxy as a whole has been opened to their eyes and many now look to better their situation and seek their fortunes amongst our ranks. A Recruitment Center and Barracks has been established in the one major city which stands in the central region of the planet. That city is now under constant patrol by AMC Units to maintain law and order and to establish a standing AMC military presence as the newly created NPC Transport Center will certainly lead to a rapid influx of more off-worlders with potentially uncertain intentions.

The relatively hot and inhospitable climate of Carlac poses a minor threat to most non-native races who are not protected by thermal gear. Even the rugged and highly adaptable Consortium Powersuit does not protect its occupants from these conditions. These effects are minimal, however, and they are quite recoverable in short exposures to the environment. This circumstance, however, has led to a decision by AMC High Command to relegate most permanent duty assignments to AMC’s Mechanized Mobile Infantry Units as droids are immune to these thermal effects. Spartan-Class and Gladiator-Class Battle Droids patrol the city and surrounding terrain and Paladin-Class Destroyer Droids are at the ready to be deployed to heavy fighting hot-spots on the surface. AMC Mobile Infantry Legionnaires and Melee Fusiliers are also actively on patrol on the surface and in orbit to respond when needed and to conduct large scale operations across the planet as new military training operations begin to get underway.

The central region of the planet has been cleared of most hostiles after weeks of heavy fighting. These operations allowed Mobile Infantry Commanders to work out complicated tactical maneuvers with their assigned Mechanized Units and they again proved the value and battle capabilities of both the Spartan and the Gladiator-Class Battle Droids in front line combat operations.

The areas of the planet that have been cleared of hostiles are now under constant patrol by AMC Recon Probe Droids. T-1 and T-2 Tactical Recon Probe Droids as well as the newly released K-X12 Tactical Recon Probe Droid have been deployed across the surface to help detect new hostile threats and aid in their destruction. The use of these droids has vastly improved the visual capabilities of AMC Sensors and Scanner Equipment through the use of sensor sharing and in the relaying of tactical information to the AMC forces on the ground, in vehicles and in the air. This has truly allowed for combined and coordinated deployment of troops to re-establish security in any given area where new threats are detected. The only regions in which this network of probe droids has not been established is in the still untamed outer rim of the planet where bandits fleeing from the central regions of the planet have established strongholds and bitter fighting is still ongoing. AMC High Command has relegated those mopping up operations to the native Yarkora Forces as more than 90% of the planet has been brought back under control and is now firmly held and patrolled by AMC’s Military.

This successfully negotiated Alliance is yet another triumphant campaign by AMC’s Diplomatic Corps. Under the direction of the Triumvirate Council, the Prime Executor has worked tirelessly to secure Non-Aggression Pacts with nearly all of AMC’s major Galactic trade partners and he has formalized Strategic Alliances that have greatly expanded AMC’s sphere of influence and protective covenant in the Galaxy.

Successful policy abroad brings stability at home! All of the Prefsbelt Sector remains safely in the control and protection of AMC.

We arrive to Carlac days ago and we are cleaning the dirty surface with fire and honor. At least two criminal gangs hiding around the city have already been neutralized by the "Black Squad" after a little shooting. Prisoners have been prosecuted for their crimes against the civilian population and have been executed.

In addition, we encounter numerous wild beasts, guilty of the disappearances of hunters, explorers and great part of the cattle. The hardest battle was against a wild "Sarlacc", who threatened to crash our ship at different times. On the other hand, we ended up with an "Alpha Draigon" nest. And now we are currently following a herd of "Banthas".


Despite the strong heat that burns our skin when we are outside our ship, our troops feel motivated by our liberating mission on the planet. Under the "Black Squad" slogan of "Freedom or Die", every drop of sweat is dedicated to the Consortium and its progress.

We continue the mission without inconveniences. We advanced through the desert of Carlac hunting every wild animal that we found on the road. Following the trail of a herd of savage Banthas we were attacked by a squad of hungry "Geonosian Massiff", but we were able to contain them without problem thanks to Sergeant Latt's good aiming.

On the seventh day, the high temperatures damaged the engine of the ship and we were held for two days, luckily our pilot managed to repair it without having to send a battalion walking to the city.


Meanwhile and without realizing we were spied by a pair of dangerous gangs of bandits who were already alerted of the mission that we carried out. They attacked us by surprise one night, but we managed to repel them thanks to the quick reaction of the legionnaire Geasauco, who avoided the placement of a bomb risking his own life, action that would leave him seriously injured, but not of gravity. All the attackers was killed and their leaders captured and ejecuted. Now, the dangerous "Bella Minetii" and her band "Biths" is intensely sought by the "Black Squad".
To our tranquility, the legionary Geasauco returned to join the main squad to continue participating in this important mission.

We found... the lair of Bella Minetti... and after an int... ense battle we ma...naged to ... neutralize it with a ssss...ure shot of my A280....Now we are u...nnnder a dangerous sssss... andstorm that makes it difficult for us to commmmm...unicate, the signal is very interrupt...pt...pted. If we do not give signnn...nals in a week..k..k, look for us in the ssss....surface (6,2)...

After incredible maneuvers of Alli Troung, our Twi'lek pilot, we managed to take refuge in an oasis on the surface (6,1). Unfortunately in the maneuvers we crush a nest of Thrantas and we had to kill them before they finished destroying the ship. After this unfortunate event I gave my legionaries three days of rest. And it is here that we almost fell into the trap of bandits who lived in the oasis and watched us from the moment we arrived. One night a Trandoshan woman arrived, told us that she had been stranded here in the same sandstorm and asked us to take her with us. We accepted without hesitation, but without trusting her I assigned a guard to follow her without her knowing. So we could find out that she tried to sabotage our ship and then she was confronted while stealing weapons from the armory. There she tried to assassinate Josh Cadav, who with a quick movement managed to draw his DL-44 and hit him in the head. Then we were able to discover thanks to its genetic code that she was called Ratha Balls and belonged to an old family of slave traders and now was part of a dangerous band of bandits, gang that we are preparing to go to erradicate it. Reports from our explorer Dorn Kurn indicate that they may have droids under their control, most likely some of those who have been lost after the sandstorms.

We are calm and proud to go forward with this important mission entrusted to us. We will leave no trace of bandits, much less slave traders. Freedom or Die. Long Live to AMC!

First Lieutenant Dima reports:

As we had expected, the bandits soon arrived after losing contact with their spy. The bad news for them was that our elite squadron waited for them hidden in the trees with the A280 ready to open fire.
In the first ambush fell half of the bandits, others managed to take refuge behind the androids we were already alerted that they had under their power. They managed to hide behind a few rocks and gave us a fight, until a small group commanded by Sergeant Latt managed to surround them and could disarm them to be arrested and to be submitted to a war court. On the other hand, the androids were disarmed and their pieces recycled to repair the damages that presented the ship after crashing in the oasis. After that, Sergeant Latt advanced quickly, tracking down the road the bandits had used and managed to find their refuge, where we could retrieve more pieces of droids, food, water, and plenty of Gralish liquor reserves, probably stolen from Carlac's merchant.

The prisoners were sentenced to death for their multiple crimes, mainly to steal AMC's material for use as a weapon against civilians, merchants or travelers seeking refuge in the oasis. This band, commanded by Chelch Saphris was feared by merchants, but still nobody had managed to disarm it ... now thanks to the fast action of the Black Squad, they were annihilated, returning the security to the oasis.

While our pilot directed the repair of our ship, I gave my men a break of more than a week. Where they could rest drinking gralish liquor that was snatched from the bandits. (All will be monetarily replenished to the families of the merchant who lost the cargo)

We now take a path that takes us to the mountain range of Carlac in (6,0). Upon arrival we could verify that there are no droids watching this area, so we will walk carefully. The mountains are difficult to patrol, but easy to find refuge if you are a bandit.
We fear that our delay in the Oasis has been able to alert other gangs in the sector. But there is no fear able to win the courage he feels as he fights for AMC and Carlac's freedom!

The Black Squad continues to impress us all and has done much to enhance the stability of Carlac. It is true, the borderlands of the planet are still wild with no probe droid patrols so tread carefully and continue your successful campaign!

Much time has passed since the last report. The spirits of some comrades have declined after weeks without finding any kind of life. By a statement from our Pro Consul we know about the hunting tournament began ... but we have not had any luck.

To get out of this sad state, I decided to retire from the mountain range. We ran into a group of bandits posing as travelers and when we lowered our guard they tried to steal our ship, seriously injuring our pilot Alli Truong. We were able to prevent it from more damages, and we managed to take prisoners to most of them ... In an act of rebellion a group of legionaries tortured and killed the leader of the bandits, I am not proud to tell, but I think anger dominated them. I fear that the desert is making them lose patience and well, the lack of trophies for the competition has also had the spirits of my legionaries on the ground. The rebels were punished and locked up for a week in a room of the ship that was fitted as a cell, I hope it does not happen again.



Alli Truong is already better, to take again the controls of the ship. Our clothes are damaged and our supplies are scarce, the Carlac desert can not weaken our morals, although I fear it is. I promised my legionaries that after the competition we will return to the city for a well deserved rest ... I hope to improve our luck and we can add a trophy to the competition, otherwise it would be a serious blow to the hunting spirit of the Trandoshans...

First Lieutenant Dima last report

As we search for targets for the hunting contest, we find a fortress of bandits. We have heard of this fort before, Armande Terek and his band took a destroyed AT-AT and made it a livable place. Terek is a Rodian who is dedicated to attacking the farmers and merchants and to grow his army kidnapping children and forcing other bands to join under his leadership.


We watched the fortress for four days and we saw nothing strange. No one came or went in all that time. Impatience invaded us, some proposed to pass the fort and dedicate our time in the hunting contest. Many found that this was the most viable option, and spending energy by taking Terek's fortress would only risk being eliminated from the competition. Without a moment's hesitation I reminded them of our mission on the surface of Carlac. - We are here to eliminate the pillaging and the gangs that sowed terror to civilians and merchants who need to cross the desert. - I said to my legionairies.
The contest was important, but before personal success it was collective success, the security of the planet was before. I left that night with 12 legionaries willing to investigate if Terek and his gang were still entrenched there. It seemed strange that no one had left or entered, mainly because moments without sand storms are always used to hunt or assault travelers. We circled the skeleton of the At-At without finding anything suspicious, we identified a couple of entrances and both were open, because the little accumulation of sand seemed to have been left like that less than a week ago.

We entered by what we believed would be the most hidden, not knowing that each of our movements had been carefully observed from the fortress by an intricate network of cameras with which Terek covered every corner of his fort.
We did not reach a hundred yards down the hall when the door closed violently behind us. - Attentive! - I managed to say, shortly before a strange vapor began to emerge from the pipes that seemed abandoned years ago. I saw Dylan Elsin and Dolph Geasauco fall swooping to the ground immediately, little by little Kurn, Swift, Sams, Cadav, and Visputin were fainting. The others managed to put the masks of oxygen, inmmediatly in the end of the hall was heard a sure shot that hit Auugu Anders in the stomach. We tried to return the shots, but the steam slowly passed our masks and clouded our eyes.
I opened my eyes and felt burning in my wrists, was tied to the ceiling with both hands. In front of me was nothing more than Armande Terek next to a Hutt that had on a table endless tools of torture. The sessions lasted long enough to make me lose track of time, Terek insisted on asking me how many AMC patrols were in Carlac and where the command center of the droids guarding the desert was located. My answers never satisfied and after several days they stopped visiting me, and with that they gave me no more food or water, most likely they would let me die there.

 It was clear that Terek had been informed of AMC's operations on Carlac's surface, he had been warned and that was why he was waiting for us.
I did not know how much time have passed until a icy water blow woke me up. I opened my eyes and saw Calla Rogocki, one of my legionaries who remained in charge of the ship while we investigated the fortress of Terek. - We came to rescue you, sir! - He shouted to me while little by little from the hall I recognized the sounds of shots. Rogocki untied me and I fell heavily to the floor, my body was muscularly damaged and not counting the various wounds that torture had left in my body. I was able to get up and received my A280 that had been recovered from the armory. We managed to unite with a group of Trandoshans who covered us, when they saw us arrive they celebrated aloud and empowered by the courage, they made their way to the main hall of the fort, where several of our legionaries were entrenched behind the internal remains of the At-At. I learned that everyone had lived, even Auguu Anders who had been shot, he should already be coming back to our ship escorted by a group of legionaries. I chose 5 of our best men and I went to find Terek, I knew that he was hiding next to his personal guard, so that between shots and grenades we managed to cornered it in the head of the At-At. When he was cornered and his guards killed, he threw his weapon and raised his hands demanding clemency and fair treatment. While my soldiers did not stop pointing it I approached him slowly, Terek knelt before me asking for mercy, but I already knew this strategy of the Rodians, so without hesitation I took my vibroblade and I cut his head with a blow. Then his head with that of his best men were left in the entrance buried on their own spears along with a message that threatened anyone who dared to disrespect the consortium and the inhabitants of their planets. I'm not sure if it was the best solution, but due to the urgent need to return safely to our ship was the only one we managed to reach quickly. About the rescue operation in which 9 legionaries managed to rescue 12 prisoners in a well guarded fortress, I do not have the exact details, but it is certainly heroic.


    We returned to the ship and immediately entered a tank of bacta, there I was until today that we arrived at the city and I can write in the security of my Arquitens "Spearhead". My legionaries are safe and sound, none died on our long journey through the desert of Carlac and despite having been ambushed at times by bandits and wild beasts. All have received an increase in their salaries and they have been granted a month of rest after we get back to Comra, where they can enjoy and forget that in the hunting competition we did not manage to deliver any trophy. That is why we did not respond to the search message of the fugitive in Comra.

With this I close the reports of the Black Squadron on the surface of Carlac.
