A couple of people have asked me about Bounty Hunting. Here is a quick overview of the process: 1. Get a Bounty Fob (necessary) and have it equipped. You can buy a fob from the Guild Master you will be talking to in step 2. www.swcombine.com/rules/?Tools&ID=4162. Go to one of the taverns on this list, enter, go to the second room and speak with the Guild Master. 3. The guild master will offer you a job. You will have the name and type of contract (kill or rescue) and the reward (credits or items). Agree to take the contract and he will drop a puck on the floor. Put the puck into the fob. You can then use the fob to find the general location of the bounty. Don't forget the puck! 4. Make sure you have a ship with a one or more vehicles on it with at least 2-4 squads. I usually have a squad of vehicles with a mix of riflemen, with close and ranged weapons, and a squad or two of melee. 5. The location will be a direction and distance from where you are. All bounties are on darkness planets. I use the darkness map to guess where it might be. For example if it is to the east at medium distance, find the planet you are on using the map and see which darkness planets are east, medium distance away. There may be several darkness planets that could work so at first you need to guess. You fly to the sector of the darkness planet and check for location again, and keep repeating the process until it comes up green with the exact planet and city square. www.swcombine.com/rules/?Darkness_Map6.*Very important. If you land your ship on the same city square as the bounty, they will flee to another city square. You need to land in the square next to it, then get in your vehicle squad and cross terrain. 7. You will search the city square until you find the bounty squad. It will include the target and NPCs who will fight you. If the contract is for kill, don't worry just kill everyone. 8. If the contract is rescue, kill the squad down to 1-2 bad guys plus the target, then attack with fewer people. You don't want to accidently kill the target. Once all the bad guys are dead, you have to have a free space in you party and add the bounty to your party. You will then need to fly back to the tavern and talk to the guild master with the bounty in your party. 9.If the contract is kill, and you successfully kill them, fly back to the tavern and talk to the guildmaster. That's all!

Hi all, I'm new here. I'm a Master Bounty Hunter so offering a few tips!
- For KILL contracts, set Party Fire: Spread. This will attack everyone.
- For RESCUE contracts, set Party Fire: Focus. When you set Focus Fire, your squad will kill everyone else except the target. Then travel in your vehicle to the NPC and make sure you remove at least one member of your squad. Activate your tracking fob and choose target rescue. The target will be automatically added to your party and you bring the person to a tavern to claim your bounty reward.
- I feel the best setup is the mid-range A280 at range 7/8, heavy Battle Armour and Helmet, Riot shield. This allows for maximum damage and low damage absorption. Some recommend Amban snipers but the minimum range is 13 so if your perception is low, you need additional NPC scouts to extend the range. To me, that's a hassle.
- Race wise for your squad, choose those with either good projectile or non-projectile skills. However, projectile tends to absorb less damage than close range weapons.
- Transport wise, use a fast ship with cargo capacity for a vehicle that is able to take your 12-men squad plus 2 spaces at least for yourself and a bounty rescue target. (i.e. min 14 capacity)
- Over time, your bounty targets get more dangerous, but the reward is greater. Typically, bounty rewards range 2-3mil. So in one month, I earn about 10 mil for 3 contracts.
- If you get too hurt, or if one of squad members is close to death (yellow/red colour), take a break in your vehicle to heal with medikits or wait for it to heal daily. It's not worth your soldier dying as all items equipped will be LOST. Btw, you can't die.

To add to the excellent previous advice: Use PISTON swcpiston.com/home/. It's the best tool to track your bounties, among other functions related to travel an production. For weapons setup, instead of Riot shields, I prefer short-range weapons like Relbys, in case some wandering beast attacks you. However, you might receive slightly more damage when attacking long-range targets. If you can get them, level 10 NPCs are preferred for the additional HP, particularly from high HP races. Also, you can add SPs to dexterity and other valuable skills for combat. When using lvl 10 NPCs losing one is very bad, as it takes months to train another one up to that level. You can buy them, but the good races are worth around 1 million credits. Finally, you can find more data and useless chat in the BH discord server discord.gg/ezc8xnWV

Thanks Pat for adding to my list of tips.
Another tip is your ship and vehicle setup.
1. SHIP
- Get a ship that has good hyperspeed of 6/7 so that you can hyper faster. Faster bounty kills = Faster bounty rewards
- Make sure the ship has sufficient Cargo weight/volume capacity to hold the Vehicle.
2. VEHICLE
Make sure the Vehicle can - Descend to ground (has repulsors) - Carry at least 14 people (in case of a rescue) - Fit into your Ship - Best to get one without terrain restrictions or it'll be pretty frustrating to find out you can't land there. - If you can't land in that terrain, descend in your Ship and cancel it at once. The bounty should have ran away to a different square and you can scan his location again. Hopefully he'll be at a terrain your Vehicle can descend on.
When you locate your bounty and you choose go to location on the planet, your ship will automatically stop at Atmosphere level (Space-Atmos-Geound). Get into your vehicle, undock, party up, check your party settings for spread or focus fire, then descend. You don't need to go the adjacent square.
Cheers! Happy hunting

Is there any benefit to using a vehicle with repulsors vs just landing in an adjacent terrain square and crossing terrain over to where your target is located? Outside of the obvious time save in doing so of course.

Outside of the obvious time save in doing so of course. For you, it's the same. Some hunters might be upset as you might scare their bounties landing with a ship, but they will never know it was you. I prefer vehicles with weapons, but that has no effect in the game yet.

It was a long and tedious job. And on ships or vehicles, at first I used a vehicle to move on the surface of the planet, but now I land 2 or 3 frames away and then I advance with my ship crossing terrain. Will they hate me for it? Ups

Hi, someone know if there is another website like Piston? I have been orphaned when it disappeared, I had got used to how useful it was.

I have been using The Forge - swc-forge.com/I like it and will be using it. There is also SEC SWC Link - www.swc-link.com/api/auth/signinIt has a subscription with credits to use. I took a look but it did not seem like it offered anything special.

I had gotten used to using Piston and seeing coordinates again and the map exhausted me hahaha.

I'm also using The Forge.
I have been told that factions leaders and 2ICs can upload an xml file with taverns exported form SWC. Should we try to create such and XML with a list of "public" taverns and the import it on The Forge?

It might not be so easy as there are more than 1000 taverns in the inventory. There was a list somewhere with the "bounty hunting taverns", so they could be tagged and filtered before xml generation. Anyway, I think importing needs to be done in forge or SWC-Link only by the faction leader or 2IC.
