AMC introduces its latest addition to its already robust Battle Fleets: Toscan-Class 8-Q Starfighters
AMC dedicated Shipyards owned by Pitch Black Hunting Consortium under the direction of Logan Shivers and Adde Dima maintain rigorous, around the clock production schedules to keep up with the demands of AMC’s latest Military Contracts. In numerous undisclosed locations, ships roll off the massive Shipyard assembly lines and are transported to staging areas for inspection by AMC personnel.

AMC boasts one of the largest armadas in the Northwest Quadrant of the known Galaxy. Any one of AMC's three Main Battle Fleets dwarfs those of most Sectors alone plus AMC retains control of the historic Grand Fleet of the former Mercenary Guild government, giving it vast additional resources to supplement existing Battle Groups as well as forming an expansive fourth Allied Fleet that serves at the pleasure of AMC's Triumvirate Council. AMC is not content to simply rest on its laurels, however, as new ships are constantly being added to supplement its squadrons and bolster its hold and control of AMC allied territories.
The mainstay of AMC's fighter squadrons has traditionally consisted of two main types, the R-41 Starchaser-Class Starfighter and the S-250 Chela-Class Starfighter.
The newly modified and heavily armed R-41 Starchaser-Class Starfighter is an upgrade on the standard Starchaser chasse seen in fleets throughout the Galaxy. The R-41 Starchaser boasts a varied and formidable weapons payload including Heavy Lasers, Proton-Torpedo Launchers and Ion Cannons. Its armaments make it more than a match for most opposing starfighters it encounters and it even matches well against most gunships and armed freighters. AMC’s upgraded version of the R-41 has even proven itself against some lighter armed frigates and capital ships although these are not the primary target that these ships would be tasked to confront.

The relatively slow sublight speed and its complete lack of a hyperdrive make it primarily an In-System option in both offensive and defensive operations. It can be easily deployed from Carriers when a threat enters the System or at the point of attack when engaging enemy targets. Its hull strength and deflector shields make it a hardier option than AMC’s other primary fighter, the S-250 Chela-Class Starfighter. The S-250, however, has hyperdrive capabilities and a heavy armaments package of its own which allows them to function as a primary strike force on their own, as well as taking part in operations In-System.

AMC has now decided to add a third line of starfighters to its fighter squadrons. Under contracts being carried out by Pitch Black Hunting Consortium, the first of this new class of starfighter is making its way into service. The Toscan-Class 8-Q Starfighter will add a second class of long range options as a hyperdrive capable fighter strike force. Its heavy hull makes it one of the sturdiness fighters in the Galaxy with a hull strength and deflector shields equal to many freighters. What it lacks in speed, it more than makes up for in firepower, boasting twin Ion Cannons, Missile Launchers and Heavy Laser Cannons making it one of the most deadly ships in the Galaxy.

AMC’s fighter squadrons are ready to take the fight to the enemy both at home and abroad and with this new class of starfighter it should make that job even easier. Veteran pilots are hoping for the chance to be reassigned to this new class of starfighter, making it one of the most sought after posts in AMC’s Fleets.
Scouting and Reconnaissance Missions to the newly discovered System of Carlac will soon include squadrons of Toscans as diplomatic efforts continue there to bring that planet under AMC’s protective covenant. Regardless of what transpires on Carlac, the Toscan Starfighter will see heavy service in the Prefsbelt Sector and beyond.
