The Serroco Campaign and the Scourge of the Red Dusk Collective
The peaceful serenity of Serroco's atmosphere hides the true evil that covers its surface.
The Alliance of Mercenary Consortium's recently thwarted an inter-galactic plot that could have set the known galaxy spiraling into endless chaos and destruction. ISS Agents uncovered that a Techno-Doomsday Cult called "Red Dusk Collective" had acquired and begun to synthesize a hybrid of the Derra and Serroco Viruses in what were believed to be S19 Astromech Viral Incubator Droids on Serroco. As is well known, The Great Animosity Plague, was initiated by the outbreak of the Derra Virus. That virus was discovered on Year 14 Day 1 as sentients infected were seen to grow irrationally prone to hostility and violence. The outbreak tore through the planet Derra where it was long felt to be contained until a similar outbreak occurred years later on Serroco with the same devastating results to its populace. These worlds are now barren wastelands of lawlessness, chaos and death where no Government or Faction can hope to gain a foothold or re-establish order and only small outposts of civilization remain.
Typical scene in the last remaining outposts of civilization on Derra and Serroco.
The Red Dusk Collective, feeding on an ill-fated notion that through the death and destruction of the known governments and civilizations that the Galaxy will reset itself and they look to bring about that end. They claim that as the sun sets on the old Galaxy a new dawn will arise, however, they fail to mention in their preaching that this will be a new and terrible Galaxy of death. To fulfill their prophecy, in a chilling revelation, the intelligence that the ISS collected seems to indicate that the Red Dusk Collective now plans to transport and seed this new hybrid viral mutation onto the closest neighboring planets, Leafar and Leafar II, to test its affects before they attempt to spread this scourge across the Galaxy. It is well known that the planet Leafar is the financial epicenter of the Alliance of Mercenary Consortiums and serves as a free and booming financial and administrative hub to many of AMC's allies. Safeguarding that planet is paramount to the welfare and stability of the Alliance and AMC would stop at nothing to securing that end.
The ISS has also unearthed that there may be an antidote that the group has synthesized as well since Governments will pay an Emperor's Ransom should their planets become infected with this new strain of virus. If that antidote exists, who ever controls it may hold incredible sway in the Galaxy. Given that fact, AMC conducted a full scale strike on Serroco's Main City. The objective...eliminate any Cult members encountered, obtain any samples of the antidote that may exist and then destroy the production centers of the new virus.
An advance team of ISS Shadow Troopers had already established a base of operations within the Spaceport and they quickly began operations to control all traffic in and out of the city. Mobile Infantry Legionnaire Units then moved in and provided additional firepower and secured the landing pads and road ways to ensure a strict blockade of the City. A blockade of the Planet as a whole had already begun as a powerful AMC Fleet massed in Serroco's orbit.
ISS Shadow Troopers with Special Ops headgear assemble outside of Serrco City's Starport to coordinate with other AMC assets in the city.
Mobile Infantry and ISS Strike Teams then set out to take control of the city, eliminate the threat from The Collective and its new deadly virus and obtain any samples and intel related to the new virus and possible antidote.
ISS Director Ichiru Hanabusa lead the Shadow Trooper Special Forces across a sweep of the northern rim of the city then turned and moved south coordinating efforts with AMC's Mobile Infantry Legions. First Centurion Kareem Smiles, Colonel Ralph Repcon, and Generals Joshua Little and Logan Shivers spearheaded room by room searches of the buildings of the city while Centurion Hock Snewcks, Staff Centurion Ohew Willy Bacca, Major Orto Sentak and General Enox La Bacca commanded reserve forces, ready to engage should the need arise. Colonel Ralph Repcon's unit made first contact as they discovered a Viral Incubator Droid hooked up to the medical equipment in the long since abandoned and dilapidated hospital in the southeast corner of the city. Feeding off the hospitals power grid and bio-systems the droid was replicating massive amounts of virus into storage units. Colonel Repcon's team also found what appeared to be the first signs of an antidote and his team was able to collect the specimens for further processing. As they disabled the processing droid and began destroying the viral containers they came under withering fire from Red Dusk Zealots and Red Dusk Security Droids. The Colonel was able to destroy the Incubator Droid and fall back from the hospital in good order but it was now clear that this would be a heavy fight as Red Dusk Forces began pouring in from every corner of the city. Fire fights and full scale engagements broke out in the streets and in every building as AMC Legionnaires diligently clear each building floor by floor and room by room.
Throughout the battle, Legionnaire commanders where able to integrate Mechanized Mobile Infantry Units into their regular Legionnaire Patrols with excellent success as the newly remodeled Paladin-Class Destroyer Droids and Praetorian-Class Heavy Battle Droids functioned beyond expectations against enemy forces. The Praetorian-Class Heavy Battle Droid is an upgrade from the standard BN-DO Assassin Droid that has entered the marketplace and military organizations across the Galaxy . The AMC version showed great promise as its enhanced targeting systems allowed it to decimate its foes with withering twin heavy blaster fire. These new droid units are rolling off AMC-ITECH assembly lines and will be added to AMC's arsenal of Mechanized Mobile Infantry within the coming year. As expected, the Paladin-Class Destroyer Droid, having made its debut in the Carlac Campaign did not disappoint during this campaign as well as it was almost impregnable to enemy fire and was able to mow down vast swaths of enemy combatants with its dual medium cannons.
Large numbers of [AMC] Paladin-Class Destroyer Droids have been added to front line Mobile Infantry Units as Mechanized and Biologic assets work together toward a common goal...VICTORY!
Coordinating their efforts and providing real-time, actionable intel for each other these brave AMC troop commanders were able to destroy all of the Red Dusk's Viral Incubator Droids as well as collect multiple datapads and supposed antidote vials which will be turned over to the ISS for further processing and analysis.
The success of this mission cannot be overstated as a threat to the known Galaxy was averted and eliminated as the scourge of the Red Dusk and their new hybrid virus has essentially been wiped from the planet. AMC will not rest on their laurels, however, as other threats may rise on this plagued world. A new directive has been set by the Triumvirate Council as Serroco lies too close to AMC's Financial Center on the planet Leafar. AMC will therefore maintain the blockade of the planet and regularly patrol the city and surrounding wastelands looking for any signs of a resurgence of the Red Dusk Collective or any other threat to AMC or the Galaxy at large.
AMC will become the stewards of Serroco. Now begins our watch! Serroco will become our battleground and we shall prevail!
Long live The Consortium!
